Player of the Week: October 10, 2022
Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.
Fall Week #4: Aleksandra Koleva
Miami Dade College.
NJCAA Division I.
Suncoast Conference.
Sophomore. 5'9" Setter.
First reported by AVSR Global in 2020.

Last Week:
• Koleva guided Miami Dade to two wins and kept the Sharks swimming toward an 11th NJCAA national championship title.
• The Sharks defeated Hillsborough 3-2 and Eastern Florida 3-0, moving to 8-0 in the Suncoast Conference and 16-4 overall.
• MDC is on a 15-1 run since opening the season with a 1-3 mark.
• Koleva transferred to Miami Dade this year from Tyler Junior College in Texas. She led Tyler to the 2021 NJCAA championship tourney.
• Miami Dade won 10 national titles from 1986 through 2017.
• At age 16 Koleva began competing in Bulgaria’s top women’s league. She played also for Bulgaria’s youth and junior national teams.
• Koleva’s father, Radko Kolev, had a 15-year professional career as a middle blocker and opposite in Europe, Asia and North Africa.
