Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Fall Week #2: Steliyana Chakarova

Last Week:

• Chakarova keyed Eastern Arizona’s biggest victory of the year, and the Gila Monsters surged to 15-5, the team’s best record since 2011.
• Chakarova clinched EAC’s 3-2 win at Arizona Western with two blocks in a row, closing Set 5 at 16-14. She scored 13 kills at .357 efficiency.
• In three wins last week Chakarova totaled 25 kills at a .458 rate.
• EAC is aiming to qualify for the NJCAA national championship tourney for the first time since 2017. The Gila Monsters are on an 11-2 run.
• Chakarova, at opposite, has played in all 71 sets for EAC this season.
• She played opposite and outside hitter at home in Bulgaria for the junior and women’s teams of VC Maritza and VC Beroe.
