Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Fall Week #7: Merle Weidt

University of Arizona.

NCAA Division I.

Senior. 6'1" Middle Blocker.

Reported by AVSR Global to coaches in 2017.

Last Week:

• Arizona routed Stanford and California 3-0 apiece with Weidt hitting at .583 efficiency. She scored 14 kills in 21 swings with no errors.
• Weidt ranks third in the Pac-12 in attack efficiency this season, scoring at .404 precision. She hit .424 during the 2021 spring season.
• Arizona stands at 6-6 in the Pac-12 after sweeping Stanford and Cal.
• Weidt transferred to Arizona in 2020 after two years at Rutgers in the Big Ten. As a sophomore she was the Scarlet Knights’ top blocker.
• At age 15 Weidt began competing in Germany’s top women’s league. She also played for Germany’s youth and junior national teams.
