Player of the Week: October 25, 2021

Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Fall Week #6: Andrea Tsvetanova

Coppin State University.

Last Week:

• Tsvetanova widened her lead in the Mid-Eastern Conference as the setter with the most assists, and Coppin State won twice.
• The Eagles defeated South Carolina State 3-0 and North Carolina Central 3-1, climbing to third place in the MEAC with a 6-3 mark.
• Tsvetanova leads the league with 612 assists this season. She is also Coppin State’s top server, notching 32 aces and only 26 errors.
• Coppin is aiming for its first MEAC championship since joining the league in 1989. The Eagles placed second in the 2021 spring season.
• Tsvetanova led the nation’s junior colleges in assists last spring. She guided Western Nebraska to the NJCAA championship tourney.
• Tsvetanova has been a world traveler since birth, as her mother was a professional setter. Their homes included Russia, Spain, Poland, Turkey, Germany, Cyprus, Azerbaijan and their native Bulgaria.
• Tsvetanova’s setting career started in 2008 with Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus. She played more recently for CSKA Sofia of Bulgaria.
