Player of the Week: November 22, 2021

Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Fall Week #10: Samira Lawson Body

Middle Tennessee State University.

Conference USA.

NCAA Division I.

Junior. 5'10" Outside Hitter.

Last Week:

• Lawson Body led Middle Tennessee to the Conference USA semifinals, capping the Blue Raiders’ best season since 2013.
• MTSU beat North Texas 3-0 in the quarterfinals, then fell to Rice 3-0.
• Lawson Body led MTSU with 26 kills at .207 efficiency. She was the team’s top attacker all season and its second best receiver.
• MTSU has never before reached the Conference USA semifinals. The team moved to C-USA from the Sun Belt Conference in 2013.
• As an academic standout Lawson Body has won Conference USA elite honors. She is a biology major preparing for a medical career.
• In beach volleyball Lawson Body was a member of Germany’s national team program. She trained year-round as a junior beach player.
• Samira’s father, Charles Lawson Body, played professional volleyball in Europe and Africa. He was a middle blocker and outside hitter.
