Spring Week #2: Ingrīda Schweiger

University of Houston.

NCAA Division I. Graduated in 2012.

Current Team: PSV Salzburg (Austria).

6'3" Outside Hitter.

• Schweiger is the top scorer of the 2019-20 season for PSV Salzburg in Austria’s Bundesliga. She’s a receiver, hitter and team captain.
• This is Schweiger’s third year with PSV Salzburg since her one-year maternity break from professional volleyball.
• At the University of Houston, then as Ingrīda Zauere, she was a force for four years. It was Houston’s best run of the past two decades.
• Schweiger earned a master’s degree at Illinois State University while working as ISU’s Director of Volleyball Operations.
• Schweiger has played for Latvia’s beach and indoor national teams. At age 17 she placed ninth at the Under-21 Beach World Championship.
