• Sawaniewicz captained first-place Płomień Sosnowiec through an undefeated month as it aimed to qualify for Poland’s first league.
• Płomień grabbed four wins in Poland’s II liga, dropping only two sets.
• Sawaniewicz has played in Belgium and Poland since her four years at Midland College in Texas and Towson University in Maryland.
• At Midland she was a junior college standout. The Chaparrals posted their best season in team history in 2010, earning a 35-7 record and reaching the NJCAA national championship tourney.
• Sawaniewicz switched from middle blocker to outside hitter at Towson. The Tigers were 12-0 in the Colonial league in 2012, her final season.
