2014 Week #10:  Anete Brinke

Long Beach State University
Reported to coaches in 2013 by AVSR Global.
Home:  Riga, Latvia.
Freshman, 6'2" Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker.

Last Week’s Action:

• Brinke had her best week yet as a freshman for Long Beach State, ranked 23rd nationally.
• She scored 14 kills at .303 efficiency, breaking into the lineup as a six-rotation passer-hitter.
• Long Beach defeated Cal State Northridge and Chinese professional champion Zhejiang.
• The 49ers are undefeated in the Big West Conference with a 9-0 record, 19-4 overall.
• Brinke, a veteran beach player, is expected to be a leader in the sand for Long Beach.  The 49ers won the sand national championship in 2013.

Midland College (NJCAA), Freshman, 5'11" Opposite/Outside Hitter.
Reported to coaches in 2013 by AVSR Global.
Home:  Sumy, Ukraine.
Last Week:  Demidova led Midland with 24 kills in a win over Frank Phillips and a loss to Odessa.  Midland is seeded third in this week’s NJCAA Region V championship tourney.

Erika Gelzinyte

Columbus State University, Sophomore, 6'0" Outside/Opposite Hitter.
Reported to coaches in 2011 by AVSR Global.
Home:  Šiauliai, Lithuania.
Last Week:  Gelzinyte scored 61 kills in three matches, including a school-record 34 kills in a five-set loss at Lander.  As a server she leads the Peach Belt league this year with 52 aces.
