NCAA Eligibility Center

To receive a scholarship at a Division I or Division II university, you will need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center.  The process will require time and effort by you, but it is a necessary step in the bureaucracy of American sports.  The cost is $85 (USD).

Soon after you begin communicating with universities, you should register with the NCAA:
http://web1.ncaa.org/ECWR2/NCAA_EMS/NCAA_EMS.html
Click on "New Account" in the top right corner, then follow the instructions.

The NCAA will ask you many questions. Be careful with your answers, especially about your volleyball playing experience. The NCAA uses words like "professional" and "expenses" differently from how other people use the same words. It's no problem if a team paid for some of your travel and food, but the questions are confusing and can stop you from getting a scholarship. AVSR will help you understand the NCAA's questions.

You will also need to send your academic records to the NCAA by post. These are documents from your high school (or university) with information about your studies and marks. The NCAA will also ask you for English translations of the same documents.
