Description and Analysis

• Marie is an unusually mature and stable recruit. Personally she’s an adult. As a setter she’s a veteran of elite women’s club teams and national teams. Her skills, savvy and poise are firmly at high-Division I levels.

• Technically and tactically she’s steady and intelligent. She rarely makes amazing plays, but she commits few major errors. Her set location is good, and set selection is excellent. She plays within herself and her team.

• Physically her best assets are her strength and agility in setting the ball, including long jump-sets to both pins. Foot speed is only fair, but sharp reactions and decisions give her great range for generating offense.

• Temperamentally she’s an easy fit as a setter. She maintains an even, unforced authority. She’s a natural facilitator with healthy independence.

• She has lived away from home as a volleyball player for six school years, starting at age 15. She has thrived in a variety of training systems, travel schedules and academic programs.
