Description & Analysis

Blocking size and range are Sofija’s best features. She’s also a skilled, versatile attacker, though not especially dynamic. As a long-time MB and RH for high-level teams, she’s ready for mid-Division I as a MB, RH or possibly LH.

Impressive moments as a big, strong attacker — especially in the middle and on slides — but a low arm drawback often makes her less dominant than she could be. Tends to hit flat and deep. Swings comfortably from all zones on a full range of sets.

A natural blocker. She covers good range quickly with long strides, above-average foot speed and a sturdy upper body. Maintains clean, strong mechanics above the net. As a jumper she’s prompt and efficient with good timing instincts, but she isn’t light off the floor.

Good setting, digging and passing skills for a middle blocker, but back-court mobility is only fair. Not an aggressive back-row defender. Serves a reliable floater.

Overachieving student with an adaptive personality. She’s likely to adjust readily to American academics, volleyball and campus life.
