Player of the Week: March 25, 2019

Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Spring Week #2: Marie Kurková

Last Week:

• Kurková led Nebraska’s beach team on a six-match trip to southern California. She partned with freshman Madi Kubik.
• Kurková and Kubik, at the No. 3 flight, posted the best record among Nebraska’s five entrees. They were 8-6 in sets and 252-218 in points.
• The pair swept Irvine Valley,
Westcliff and Colorado Mesa 2-0 each. They fell to Stanford, Washington and Long Beach State.
• Kurková, age 22, transferred to Nebraska last summer as a graduate student after earning a bachelor’s degree in the Czech Republic.
• She played in Prague for longtime club power PVK Olymp Praha.
