Player of the Week: March 6, 2017

Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Spring Week #1: Zoyia Konstantopoulou

Beach player.  6'0" Sophomore.

Last Week:

• Konstantopoulou swept two beach matches with two different partners.
• She teamed with Anete Brinke to beat Cal State Bakersfield 21-10, 21-7. She paired with Hannah Matt to defeat Irvine Valley 21-13, 21-10.
• As a team Long Beach beat CSUB and Irvine Valley 5-0 in straight sets.
• Konstantopoulou played both matches at the No. 4 flight. Last year as a freshman she competed at the No. 1 and No. 2 flights.
• Long Beach is aiming to return to the national championship tourney for the fourth time in six years. The 49ers won the national title in 2013.
