Player of the Week: September 12, 2016

Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Fall Week #3: Anete Brinke

Last Week:

• Brinke switched positions and boosted Long Beach to wins over Duke, Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount. The 49ers fell to Arizona State 3-2.
• Brinke is a six-rotation mainstay for Long Beach. She started the season at outside hitter, then moved to opposite last week.
• In the four matches she scored 77 digs, 19 kills, 16 blocks and 17 assists.
• Brinke was the nation's most successful beach-and-indoor freshman in 2014-15. The 49ers won the Big West indoor title and placed second at the beach national championshp. She missed 2015-16 with a shoulder injury.
