Last Week’s Action:

• ULM's returning All-America star opened her final season by beating Florida International, Georgia State, and North Florida, falling only to Florida State.
• Last spring Markova reached the quarterfinals of the national championship pairs tourney, partnering with Tanya Sukach, another AVSR Global recruit.
• Markova is the only ULM volleyball player ever to win All-America honors.
• She transformed the Warhawks’ indoor team as a setter-hitter.  ULM had lost 40 consecutive matches in two years before Markova arrived, then posted a 10-16 mark in her first season.

Excerpt from 2008 AVSR Global report:

“A world-class beach player, Zuzana is less refined indoors but has vast talents, including a superior competitive mentality. … Ready for court time as a setter and/or hitter. … Dynamic attacker and crafty shotmaker at LH and RH. … Plays a smart, imaginative game.”
