Player of the Week - October 5, 2009

Each Monday during the fall, one collegiate player originally reported as a recruit by AVSR is named AVSR Player of the Week for her cumulative performance during the current season.

Liva Brivule

Junior;6' 3" MB;Kent State University.
Home:Riga, Latvia.

Last week:The first-year transfer student scored 30 kills, a .338 hitting rate, and 9 blocks (1.13/set) as Kent State beat Akron and fell to Buffalo. For the season, Brivule ranks #2 in the Mid-American Conference in blocks and is among Kent State's top two attackers in kills and hitting efficiency.

Excerpt from original AVSR report:"Long, swift, easy-moving athlete and a bold, experienced middle. She dominates routinely due to her natural talents, yet she’s still an unrefined player and has much physical potential to become a greater force." [March 2009]
